Cut and Cover
The ground torn up
the mass graves dug
Faces stare plagued
eyes twitching like candles
The bodies on trial
rabid acidic tongues
Ruled guilty before
the envelopes opened
Shovels grip the dust
mixed with blood and cement
A farewell gift
prior to punishment
The tombstones are set
in our imaginations
To soon be run over
by the next purges.
