Once again, after a rather busy year, All Over 2a is celebrating its birthday - this time, it's two years old!
Admittedly, being two years of age doesn't seem as remarkable to me as being one. Last year, around this time, I was writing far more than I am now, mainly due to the stress of exams and also losing some passion for the whole project, though I've mentioned that repeatedly and so there's no point in reiterating that.
However, that doesn't take away the fact that since that birthday occurred, I have written about 120 blogposts, whilst breaking the record for most written post twice - first for the amino acids post, and secondly for the recent post about my exams, the latter raising the record by nearly 500 words. If Blogger's dodgy viewing stats function is to be believed, my record reading figures was beaten twice in this year as well. And that's not forgetting that I still strive to visit various locations just to spew about 1,000 words about them - this blog takes up quite a lot of my time still, and I'm proud that I'm in this position at this time of year.
There's no need to overcontextualise whether this blog is doing well or not in terms of SEO rankings or whatnot. In the earlier days of this blog, I used to mutter about that a lot, as well as whether or not I was keeping to a given niche. Yet I have managed to simply not care about that, instead writing whatever I want, whenever I want, with the idea being to maintain some discipline when writing. And sure, the book reviews and the poetry have largely disappeared from this blog since the early days, and the same could apply to my chemistry posts and other reviews - right now, this blog is just me walking around random locations and talking about it. I will get back to the more interesting stuff, I promise. But this blog is two years old today, and I'm proud that I'm in this position at this time of year.
Thank you so much for the support! |
Much like last time, when I recommended a series of blogs, I will do the exact same, though admittedly I've stepped away from blogging and so don't know exactly what is going on in the blogosphere. I will make sure to write that post up as soon as I realistically can. The blogs I recommended last time remain so.
In a weird way, I'm surprised I've stuck to this blog as well as I have done. I remember back in Year 9, I started writing a book which I now look poorly on, and a friend said my biggest flaw was that I would start writing something yet never finish it. Regarding blogs, I don't think it can ever be finished - well, until I die, that is, and I have no control over that - so that makes the task easier. Yet I think my persistence to write is one of the key things that I will take from these past two years. Debatably, this blog has helped me get into a good university, connect with people, and seek out weirder places and locations. If not for this blog, I'd have had no reason to listen to all the New Order albums. And yet, I have - and I'm really glad that's the case.
Once more, I have celebrated with a muffin, this time blueberry. Hopefully the next year will be even better than these past two put together!
