Imperial plants

A month ago, Imperial held a houseplant sale. So I decided to buy a plant. It was a hypoestis, though I only knew this from reading the labels, I'm not good at identifying plants. I chose it because I liked the pinkish-coloured leaves, and overall I'm glad I bought it in the end. It was only like £5, from memory, though at the cost of me having to carry a small plant home on various different trains.

About a week ago, Imperial held a sustainability workshop. Various different societies had set up stalls there, one of them being the botanical society, and they happened to be giving out small plants for free. So of course I took one. This time, though, I wasn't sure which species it was. Again, I'd end up carrying it around for the rest of the day, but this time people noticed I was carrying a plant and they offered me suggestions for what it was. One person said it was a cactus, another said it was a mother of thousands, and Apple's dodgy image detection system says it's a waxflower or a moth orchid. Thanks, Apple, that's really conclusive.

I have admittedly added filters to this photo because the original was rather dark, but now I fear the plant looks too neon:

Now I have two plants on my windowsill, and it's nice to see how they've grown. The hypoestis, now actually next to sunlight and no longer trapped in a plastic bag, is doing very well, whereas the mystery plant is still very much a baby. And I have no idea how I've gone from recently owning no plants to having two, but I won't complain.
