I'm not the biggest fan of going on holiday to just lie on a beach all day. I don't mind it, it can be relaxing at times, but that wouldn't personally be first on my list. Then again, most family holidays we've gone on are all to sunnier destinations, so there will always be a beach at some point. No point in musing over that, then.
I'm much more of a sightseeing kind of guy, then again it also depends on where I am. Right now, I'm in a pretty lovely country, there's lots to see here, so I can look forward to that. I'm also a bit convinced the town I'm in right now is a more "beachy" area, so I'm more willing to go to the beach and swim in the sea than in other places.
I think it's more that I like doing things and seeing places, and you don't get much of that on the beach. I'm someone who always needs to be doing something, so being lazy in high temperatures isn't exactly my idea of fun. Relaxing, sure, but then I'll spend lots of time wondering when we'll get to see the sights.
Which happens to be today, funnily enough. I might just end up writing a blogpost on them when I get back.
